Now it’s my pleasure to introduce the second version of Doprax that supports every programming language. Now you can deploy your programs to Doprax, whether they are written in Python, PHP, Go, JS or Java … yes, you name it! We have intentionally avoided any magic. What I mean by magic is background operations that you, as the end-user, have no idea of how works, and there is no simple way to find out. Every piece of automation is transparent and is based on industry standards.

Now we are also introducing app templates. App templates are packaged projects that are ready to be deployed. We use the infrastructure-as-code concept (in YAML format) on top of Doprax’s plentiful managed services. Now you can deploy a fairly complicated application much simpler! Along with Django lite, there is also a Django full project template. Django full uses full-fledged databases like MySQL that are production-ready, secure, and stable. But on the other hand, for a development environment or a test project, this type of database may be overkill. It takes about a minute for a MySQL instance to be initialized. Also, it at least needs a couple of hundreds of Megabytes of RAM.

So if you are just starting to learn Django or in the initial stages of your project development, you can easily choose the Django lite project template. But if you have a data-intensive application or in the latter stages of your app development, it is better to use Django full with full-fledged databases.

The process is very easy. From your dashboard in Doprax, go to the account section and there click on Connect to GitHub.

You will be directed to GitHub’s OAuth page. If you are already logged in with your GitHub account in your local machine, you just confirm the access of the Doprax OAuth app to your GitHub account.

Authorize Doprax to access your account repositories

After confirmation, you will be redirected to doprax. Now your doprax account is connected to your GitHub account.

To import projects from your GitHub repositories, click on Import from GitHub in your dashboard (or projects page).

Next, select the repository that you want to import. Click import to go to next step.

Next, you will be prompted to fill a form to create a new project for your repository. Click on Import and create project and it’s done. 

After the import is completed, your repository will be cloned into the source folder of the new project. The necessary scripts and a docker file will be added automatically.
